Cultural Tours
We pride ourselves on our connection to our community. As such, we are happy to offer clients a true glimpse of Tanzanian culture with a variety of cultural tours. Whether you are looking for a traditional rural experience, a modern city tour, or an adventure to culturally significant sites, we have a tour to fit your needs.
Our three most popular tours are discussed in further detail below, but we are happy to offer a variety of day trips around the Arusha and Kilimanjaro region, all of which can be customized to fit our client’s travel goals.
Our One Tree Program
With our passion for environmental sustainability, we are dedicated to putting the environment at the forefront of everything we do. We are proud to offer clients the opportunity to partake in our One Tree Program, which we created to ensure one tree is planted in our local community for every client who hikes Mt.Kilimanjaro with us. This program not only helps ensure that our environment continues to thrive, but it also encourages our community to connect the sustainability of tourism in Tanzania to the many environmental challenges we are facing worldwide.
While our management team takes pride in planting these trees in our local community, we encourage clients to take part in this heartfelt activity which we are happy to arrange as a half-day cultural tour. We aim to plant trees in a variety of areas in our community, making each tour unique. Clients can expect to visit a home or local community centre in a rural village, connect with our hosts to learn more about their everyday life, and collaborate with our hosts by planting their tree, with the assistance and direction of our local host and your guide.
Planting trees together is a unique and memorable way to make a difference to the environment while also commemorating your connection to the land and people of Tanzania. If clients do not wish to participate in this half day cultural tour, our management team is happy to plant a tree on your behalf.
Tribal Tours
Tanzania is home to approximately 120 different cultural tribes, each with their own unique characteristics and traditions. We are pleased to offer customizable tours that offer a glimpse into everyday life for the Maasai, Meru, and Chagga people. Day tours are most common, but we are also able facilitate camping and overnight tribal tours in and around the Kilimanjaro and Arusha regions.
Coffee Tours
Historically, coffee farming and trade played a significant role in the economic development of Tanzania. Explore this industry’s deep roots while gaining awareness about the challenges farmers face today - ranging from fair working conditions and wages to issues surrounding organic and non-organic farming - as well as the impact local traditions play upon this culturally significant industry.
